Course summary

Mathematics is a language all of its own, which can be used to communicate with people all over the world – it is perhaps the only truly universal language. It helps explain almost every aspect of the world around us and underpins some aspect of nearly all other subjects. It poses questions of its own about the nature of reason and logic, and asks us to consider the true nature of the world around us. It also provides answers to problems and drives the modern word.
