Art and Design (Textiles)
Course summary
Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of textile media, processes and techniques. Students will be working in one or more areas of textile design, such as fashion design, fashion textiles, costume design, digital textiles, printed/dyed textiles, constructed textiles and art textiles. Students will relate their work to relevant images, artefacts and resources and extend their understanding of different contexts, styles, genres and traditions. UNITS OF STUDY Introductory phase learning skills, techniques and processes. Formal analysis of the work to relevant images, artefacts and resources and introduction to different styles. Planning and creating a Personal Investigation supported with an extended essay.
