Assessment

Component 1 – Examination Paper (50%) 3 hours Learners take a single examination in Product Design. The examination includes a mix of structured and extended writing questions assessing the learner’s knowledge and understanding of: • Technical Principles • Designing and Making Principles. Along with their ability to: • Analyse and evaluate design decisions and wider issues in design and technology. Component 2 (50%) Non-exam assessment (approximately 80 hours) This component is marked by the centre and moderated by the WJEC.
