Course summary

In Year 12 the following topics are researched: Physiological factors affecting Performance: Applied anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and biomechanics. Psychological and socio-cultural themes in PE: Skill acquisition, sports psychology and sport and society. Performance in PE: Performance or coaching of an activity (taken from an approved list in accordance with OCR). In Year 13 the following topics are researched: Physiological factors affecting performance: Applied anatomy and physiology, exercise physiology and biomechanics. Psychological factors affecting performance: Skill acquisition and sports psychology. Socio-cultural issues in physical activity and sport: Sport and society, contemporary issues in physical activity and sport. Performance in PE: Performance or coaching, evaluation and analysis of performance for improvement.
