Course summary

Geography is a relevant, dynamic and academically rigorous subject that helps you to make sense of the world around you. The course enables students to explore and evaluate contemporary geographical questions and issues such as the consequences of globalisation, responses to hazards, water insecurity and climate change. The course content, framed around enquiry questions, gives students the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of physical and human geography, the complexity of people and environment questions and issues and to become critical, reflective and independent learners. Students will engage critically with real world issues and places, apply their own geographical knowledge, understanding and skills to make sense of the world around them, and to help prepare them to succeed in their chosen pathway. They will become responsible, knowledgeable and skilful citizens, developing a wide range of transferable skills.
