Assessment

The assessment is based entirely on coursework. Exploring Music in Context External assessment 20% Higher Level Experimenting with Music Internal assessment 20% Higher Level Presenting Music External assessment 30% Higher Level The contemporary music maker (Higher Level only) Internal assessment 30% Higher Level The greater breadth and depth required for Higher Level is reflected through an additional assessment task. This task requires Higher Level students to demonstrate knowledge and understanding by formulating and communicating intentions for a project that is based on: • real-life practices of music-making • their experiences as developing musicians in this course • their collaboration with other students.
