Assessment

Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Translation 1 hour 50 minutes 40% of the total A Level Listening and reading comprehension and unseen translation from French to English. Paper 2: Writing 2 hours 40 minutes 30% of the total A Level Two essays and unseen translation from English to French. Paper 3: Speaking 21‐23 minute exam (with 5 minutes preparation) 30% of the total A Level Discussion of a stimulus card on one of the main themes and a presentation and discussion of the pupil’s independent research project. All pupils studying A-Level French will have a weekly one‐to‐one speaking lesson with one of our French Assistants in addition to group lessons.
