Course summary

History is in the top ten courses for graduate employability. Students are taught to critically analyse and research, form opinions based on evidence and to communicate their findings clearly. Students will study and discuss a range of historical topics across 3 components: • Component 1: The Tudors, 1485-1603 • Component 2: Democracy and dictatorship in Germany, 1918 - 1945 • Component 3: The pursuit for African American civil rights in the USA, 1863- 1968. This is the non-examined assessment unit which culminates in students writing an essay of 3,500 – 4,500 words based on a question of their choosing
