Assessment

Component 1: Personal Investigation (internally assessed and externally moderated) This accounts for 60% of the total qualification and incorporates three major elements: • Supporting studies • Practical work • Personal study (this is a written piece consisting of a minimum of 1000 words of continuous prose and is 12% of the total qualification). 15 Component 2: Externally set assignment This accounts for 40% of the total qualification and incorporates two major elements: * Preparatory studies * 15 hour period of sustained focus (during this time you will produce final outcome(s) extending from your preparatory studies).
