Course summary
Further Mathematics students are expected to take Pure Mathematics, Statistics, Mechanics and Decision. This is completed over the 2 years with an option to specialise. Component 1: Pure Mathematics 1 Weighting: 25% Length of paper: 1 hour 30 minutes Proof, Complex numbers, Matrices, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus and Further vectors. Component 2: Pure Mathematics 2 Weighting: 25% Length of paper:1 hour 30 minutes Complex numbers, Further algebra and functions, Further calculus, Polar coordinates, Hyperbolic functions and Differential equations. Component 3: Mathematics Option 1 Weighting: 25% Length of paper: 1 hour 30 minutes Students take one of the following four options: 3A: Further Pure Mathematics 3 3B: Further Statistics 1 3C: Further Mechanics 1 3D: Decision Mathematics 1 Component 4: Mathematics Option 4 Weighting: 25% Length of paper: 1 hour 30 minutes Students take one of the following seven options: 4A: Further Pure Mathematics 4 4B: Further Statistics 1 4C: Further Statistics 2 4D: Further Mechanics 1 4E: Further Mechanics 2 4F: Decision Mathematics 1
