Course summary
Students learn about how business ideas are generated and how these can be turned into an operational organisation. Students will gain an understanding of the nature of enterprise and the role of the entrepreneur in business creation. They study various functions and areas of business including accounting and finance, marketing, operations and people in organisations, as well as the external influences that can impact how they operate. Business provides learners with the ability to apply basic business concepts to a wider range of contexts, understand and apply sophisticated concepts and techniques, analyse, interpret and evaluate complex business information and take a more strategic view of business opportunities, problems and issues.
