Course summary
A Level Art, Craft and Design encompasses many artistic disciplines, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, installation, video and digital imaging. As an Art student, you will engage in research, sustained drawing, exciting experimentation with diverse traditional and digital materials and processes and the thoughtful critique of artworks and your visual culture. Your art practice should form a means of personal enquiry and expression. Students undertaking the course must employ creative approaches beyond mere observations and recording. You will explore appropriate images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design from the past and contemporary times, including European and non-European examples. Anyone wishing to pursue a career in the Creative Industries should undertake this course.
