The Chemistry department at Sheffield Girls’ is a fantastic environment in which to learn. We value practical work and demonstrations as we view Chemistry as an experimental science. It’s essential that students can get hands-on with learning to ground their knowledge and achieve fantastic results while enjoying their A-level. Lessons are designed to stimulate curiosity while learning new methods of enquiry. The content is designed to thoroughly prepare students for examinations both practical and written. We aim to give our Sixth Form students a thorough grounding in the principles and applications of Chemistry and to make them aware that these applications can be both beneficial and detrimental to the individual, the community and the environment.
