Entry Requirements

• General requirement: GCSE grade 6 or above (or Grade B or above) in Mathematics and English Language. • Course requirements: ▪ GCSE grade 7, 8 or 9 (or Grade A or A*) in the subjects to be studied. ▪ Students who wish to study subjects in the Sixth Form that are not normally offered at GCSE (Economics, Business, Politics, Psychology, Classical Civilisation) will be expected to achieve GCSE grades in line with our general entry requirements. GCSE Mathematics at grade 7, 8 or 9 (or grade A or A*) is strongly recommended for A Level Economics. Pupils must have studied either Biology or Science and Additional Science at GCSE and obtained grades 7, 8 or 9. All pupils considering Medicine as a future career should be aware that an increasing number of Medical Schools now require a minimum of 6 top grades (7-9) at GCSE (including 7-9 in Maths and English) as well as A grade passes in A Level Biology and Chemistry.
