Course summary

In Year 12, basic knowledge and understanding is developed. Students begin to build key analytical skills and use of economic models. In Year 13, you will widen your body of knowledge and your skills base by adding the techniques of synthesis and evaluation. The A Level draws students’ understanding of the economics learned into a global context which focuses on the relationship between the UK and the rest of the world. TOPIC AREAS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: • Microeconomic markets and market failure • Consumer and business behaviour • Labour markets • Macroeconomic objectives, including economic growth, inflation, unemployment and inequality • Trade, international development and environmental sustainability • Financial markets • Government economic policy
