Drama and Theatre Studies

Course summary

This course aims to develop the student’s analytical and practical understanding of drama and theatre. It is an exciting course, with an emphasis on doing drama and making theatre (as an actor, designer or director). The course allows you to: • devise your own pieces of original theatre • study plays, theatre companies and practices • stage scenes from modern and classic plays • enter as a DESIGNER or PERFORMER or DIRECTOR—or do more than one. • experience a range of live theatre. Some, you will critically evaluate and some, you will use as influence and inspiration for your own creative ideas.
