Course summary

The AQA A Level Physics specification is followed. We believe this provides students with a good foundation of knowledge of the subject that enables them, even at this early stage, to understand, interpret and predict the behaviour of the physical world around us. The course also provides the prerequisite knowledge to commence an undergraduate course in Physics, Engineering or Materials Science successfully. In Year 12, mechanics, electricity, waves, materials and modern physics are encountered; and in Y13, electric, gravitational and magnetic fields provide a great framework for expanding problem-solving skills and modelling. This is supplemented by the topics of radioactivity, and thermal physics, with particular reference to gases and changes of state.
