Course summary
The Dance Department believe every student should have the opportunity to experience dance, whether that be through performance, choreography or discovering new and exciting practitioners. A level Dance is a dynamic qualification which encourages students to develop their creative and intellectual capacity, alongside transferable skills such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving. The course is divided into three main areas: • Performance • Choreography • Critical Engagement Technique lessons focus on developing physical and performance skills, whilst choreographic practice is developed through workshops, exploring different creative processes and stimuli. Students will present their work in a practical exam. Theoretical content includes two compulsory areas of study; Rooster by Christopher Bruce and Rambert Dance Company alongside an optional set work and area of study.
