Art and Design (Textiles)

Course summary

To develop pupils’ knowledge, curiosity, understanding, skills and application for designing and making textile products. Textile design encompasses a wide range of art/design disciplines but is firmly rooted in the skills required to develop ideas towards producing outcomes that communicate ideas and quality. Outcomes can be fit a purpose, satisfy needs, enhance our daily lives or give pupils the opportunity to demonstrate their artistic capability. Pupils will be expected to work independently and self-directed through a range of tasks and to encourage flexibility in their approach to Textile design.
