Spanish
Course summary
The Spanish A-Level is an exciting course that explores a variety of engaging topics and gives you the necessary skills to write and speak eloquently about contemporary issues in the Hispanic world. Throughout the course, you will have 7 periods of Spanish and an additional class with a Spanish language assistant on a weekly basis to practice further your speaking skills. In addition, if you choose, you will be encouraged to take part in the Language Leader Scheme as part of Community Service where you will learn the basics of how to teach languages in a primary setting and assist younger years in their MFL lessons. As an advanced speaker of Spanish, a global language with over 500 million speakers, you will be a particularly attractive candidate to employers. After your A-level course, you may decide to study Spanish at a degree level or to combine it with another subject, such as international relations, business, or law.
