Entry Requirements

For A and AS level, those that have studied GCSE Mathematics should have done so on the higher level course and achieved a grade of 7 or above. Understanding and fluency with the algebra studied at GCSE is the best indicator of likely success at A level and therefore it is recommended that students considering A level Mathematics discuss the matter with their mathematics teacher. To follow Mathematics and Further Mathematics you must have a grade 8 or 9 at GCSE. Those students that have not taken a Mathematics qualification prior to the Sixth Form will be assessed as part of their application to Kent College and advised accordingly about their suitability. All Mathematics candidates will be reassessed in the early stage of Year 12 to double check their suitability for the course.
