Course summary
The BTEC National Extended Certificate in Sport course is structured so that students cover four units in total which is equivalent to 1 A Level. The topics studied in Years 12 and 13 include: The mandatory units are: • Unit 1: Anatomy and Physiology Assessed externally, written exam • Unit 2: Fitness Training and Programming Assessed externally, written task • Unit 3: Development in the Sports Industry Assessed internally, coursework Plus an additional optional unit internally assessed, coursework. BTEC Level 3 Nationals Sport courses offer a flexible range of qualifications that can be studied alongside other level 3 qualifications such as A levels or other BTEC Nationals as part of a larger programme of study, or as the main focus of study.
