Course summary

Students choose a topic that interests them but is not already covered by their other qualifications. They must research this area and write a 5000-word essay as well as give a presentation explaining their discoveries. This suits independent workers and anyone with a special interest that is not covered by A Levels or BTECs. It is roughly the equivalent of half an A Level but it is completed as an additional qualification rather than instead of an A Level or BTEC.
