Entry Requirements

French, German and Spanish are available at A level to pupils with at least grade 7 at GCSE. Experience shows that pupils from lower Fifth Form sets and those with less than a grade 7 at GCSE experience difficulties with the jump from GCSE to A level demands. Such candidates should consult with the Head of Department before embarking on the course. Bilingual students should, likewise, discuss with the Head of Department the possibility of taking the A level with reduced lesson time (eg in E block) thus freeing themselves to take three other subjects in addition.
