Course summary

Psychology is centred around understanding why we behave as we do. It allows students to explore how both dispositional and environmental factors influence behaviour and how to apply this to wider society. This Psychology curriculum is accessible to all students, regardless of starting points in terms of psychological knowledge. The intention is that students will develop confidence in a subject at A Level and thrive on their love of learning. The intent of the curriculum is that students will develop an ability to understand, apply, analyse, evaluate, and discuss psychological terms, concepts, research studies and explanations/ approaches of human behaviour; students will apply knowledge and understanding of material covered to ever changing real-life behaviours and learn to critically analyse the credibility of theories and research studies examined.
