Devising (40 %) Creating an original performance piece, through workshops and rehearsal, using one key extract from a performance text and a theatre practitioner as stimuli. Completing a portfolio of written evidence covering the areas of interpreting, creating, developing, analysing and evaluating the work (60 marks). Performance or design role within the performance (20 marks). Text In Performance (20 %) A group performance of one key extract from a performance text (36 marks), and a monologue or duologue performance from a different performance text (24 marks). Practical performance skills assessed by a visiting examiner. Theatre Makers In Practice (40 %) Section A: Live theatre evaluation – Analysing and evaluating a performance seen in light of a given statement (20 marks). Section B: Page to Stage: Realising a Performance Text – Two extended responses based on realising an unseen extract of a text that has been studied practically in class (36 marks). Section C: Interpreting a Performance Text. One extended response on a re-imagined performance concept of the studied text, in response to a chosen practitioner, that will communicate ideas to a contemporary audience.
