Assessment

In Year 12 you will undertake a 6 week, workshop-based induction phase, exploring a wide range of new and experimental techniques. You will then start a personal project which follows the structure of the assessment objectives at A Level. You will develop practical techniques and written responses, working with increasing independence and making creative, personal responses to your chosen theme. In Year 13, students will start their coursework project ‘Component 1: Personal Investigation’ worth 60% of your overall mark and which involves a 3,000 word essay. This is followed by ‘Component 2: Exam Unit’ which involves a 15 hour exam but which is marked as a whole project, not just the exam piece. This is worth 40% of the total mark.
