Assessment

The AQA specification consists of two components. It is a Linear course that is 50% practical and 50% theoretical. Component 1: Performance and Choreography • Solo performance linked to a specified practitioner within an area of study (Christopher Bruce, Glen Tetley, Robert= North, Richard Alston, Siobhan Davies and Ashley Page). • Performance in a quartet. • Group choreography. • Assessed by an AQA external examiner. Component 2: Critical Engagement - Knowledge, understanding and critical appreciation • One compulsory set work within the compulsory area of study: Rooster, Christopher Bruce (1991). • One compulsory area of study: Rambert Dance Company (1966-2002), with a choice of two named practitioners. • One optional set work and corresponding area of study from a choice of four, including two, named practitioners.
