Mathematics (Further)

Course summary

Mathematics leads to a single subject award, whereas Further Mathematics encompasses both Mathematics and Further Mathematics A Level. We also offer Further Mathematics at AS Level in the Upper Sixth. Please note that full Further Mathematics can only be taken as a fourth A Level. There is no coursework for Mathematics or Further Mathematics. • This is for students who have a real flair for the subject. We recommend Further Mathematics to those who are strong in the fields of Mathematics, Engineering or Physics. • To succeed in this course, you need to be well-organised and hard-working, as well as talented! It is a demanding programme even for the most able student, but it is a rewarding challenge for those who can cope with it. • There is a strong preference in some of the top universities for Science and Engineering candidates to have Further Mathematics at either A Level or AS Level.
