Entry Requirements

We recommend that before embarking on Key Stage 5, pupils should have achieved at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above with a minimum of a grade 6 in the subjects they wish to study. A Level mathematics is accepted toward the entrance qualifications of a wide range of university courses and is a requirement for a few. It is also well thought of by many employers. The most important reason for studying mathematics is the fascination of the subject, which is neither a science nor an art, and it is important that you find some enjoyment in learning more about the concepts and methods. Most aspects of the GCSE and International GCSE courses will be met at a higher level in the A Level course, though it is particularly important to have a good grasp of the algebra and trigonometry studied at GCSE.
