Assessment

How will I be assessed? Units 1 and 3 are externally assessed. Each assessment is taken under specified conditions, then marked by Pearson and a grade awarded. The styles of external assessment are: • set tasks – you take the assessment during a defined window and demonstrate understanding through completion of a vocational task • performance – you prepare for assessment over an extended window and demonstrate skills that generate some non-written evidence. Units 1 and 4 are internally assessed and will be achieved through completion of assignments, demonstrating practical and technical skills using appropriate techniques and processes. Summative assessment takes place at the end of each unit.
