Course summary

In Year One students will study two main themes as well as grammar: The aspects of French speaking society (Current trends such as the changing nature of the family, cyber society, the place of voluntary work) and the artistic Culture in the French speaking world. A culture proud of its heritage, contemporary music and cinema: the 7th art form. They will also study a French literary work in the first year. In Year Two: Students will build on the topics studied in Year One and study new topics such as Positive features of a diverse society, life for the marginalized, how criminals are treated (Theme aspects of French speaking society: Current trends) teenagers, the right to vote and political commitment, demonstrations, strikes – who holds the power? Politics and immigration (theme aspects of political life in the French speaking world). Students will also study a French language film in the second year.
