Course summary

Course Description The BTEC Extended Diploma in Business is a full time 2 year course which is a well recognised qualification and is equivalent to 3 A levels. The course covers similar content to A level Business but is aimed at students who have an interest in business and management who prefer a wider range of assessment methods i.e. examinations, coursework and work experience. The course is a vocational qualification that will develop your knowledge, understanding and vital skills needed for entering the workplace or to access higher education. You will have the opportunity to complete assignments based on local/national/ international businesses, as well as listen to talks from successful local and national business men and women. You will also be placed on a valuable work experience placement with highly regarded businesses. The course provides a solid grounding in understanding how businesses operate and the constraints and contexts within which they do so. Interesting fact about studying this at S6C The lessons and assignments are based around real businesses and involve plenty of discussion and exploration of concepts and ideas through a wide range of activities. The department has links to a wide range of local and national businesses and prides itself in being a vocational course as there are plenty of opportunities to hear business owners, entrepreneurs and managers give first hand detail of their experiences setting up and running a business.
