Course summary

This course will provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in Media. Students will develop their knowledge in the following areas: • Skills and knowledge relevant to the television and film industries • An understanding of professional practice in the Media industry • A showreel of portfolio work • An understanding of how the Media industries are structured and how they work. The Mandatory Units are as follows:- Unit 1 - Media products and audience (90GLH) – Externally assessed Unit 2 – Pre-production and planning (90GLH) - Externally assessed Unit 3 - Create a media product (60GLH) – Internally assessed The Optional units are as follows:- Unit 20 – Advertising campaign (60GLH) – Internally assessed Unit 21 - Plan and deliver a pitch for a media product - (30GLH) – Internally assessed Unit 22 – scripting for media products (30GLH) – Internally assessed
