Course summary
Have you ever wondered where the elements that make you were formed or why the sun shines? Physics is our attempt to explain these and the laws governing the behaviour of all matter and energy in the Universe. It encompasses the unimaginably small, in the study of fundamental particles and quantum mechanics, and the nature of galaxies and the Universe itself, shaped by gravity. This course provides a grounding of the fundamental ideas of Physics and the theoretical and experimental methods used in trying to explain our Universe. The study of Physics provides a foundation for many areas vital to our modern world such as engineering, communications, scientific research and development, computing and manufacturing.
