A Level Drama & Theatre

Course summary

This course has been designed for students with an interest in drama and theatre. The course is over 2 years and covers 3 components with the opportunity to experience live theatre. Component 1: • Practical reinterpretation of an extract provided from Eduqas using the methods of a chosen practitioner. • Creative Log. Component 2: • Devised performance from a stimulus provided by Eduqas presented in a chosen style. • Scripted performance presented in a contrasting style. • Reflective Evaluation. Component 3: • Study of two set texts which is examined as section A and B – open book. • Section C – A question based on an extract – closed book. This course allows students to not only follow their interest in theatre but gives students the opportunity to build on critical thinking, collaboration, decision making, analysis of processes and self-reflection. This course can lead to further study in: • Acting & Theatre • Film & TV • Theatre Design • Public Relations • Law • Education • Writing
