The course in split up into Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Physics Chemistry. We look at chemical reactions and how they take place in more detail. Practical skills useful for careers in Chemistry or further study, how to work independently in a practical setting. Teacher led lessons, homework activities, independent work, required practical tasks. A level Chemistry can take you onto employment in a science based industry or into further study at university.
- In addition to satisfying the UTC sixth form entry requirements, students must achieve a GCSE grade 6 in Combined Science or Chemistry GCSE or equivalent quaification - Entry Requirements 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, Mathematics and Science.
Homework tasks based on exam questions, unit assessments and larger exams covering more content in one paper. Required practical is assessed to ensure you are covering the criteria set down by Ofqual. This is done during the practical lesson and based on written work in a lab book.
