Equivalent to 0.5 A Levels. The AQA Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) allows students to explore a topic of their choice in depth, developing independent research, critical thinking, and project management skills. Students will plan, research, and present their findings in a detailed report or product, with the opportunity to demonstrate creativity and innovation. The EPQ is an excellent way to enhance university applications, as it encourages self-directed learning and the development of transferable skills valuable in further study and the workplace.
In addition to achieving the Sixth Form entry requirements, a Grade 5 in GCSE English is also required.
The AQA EPQ is assessed through a final written report or product, alongside a presentation and a production log. Students are assessed on their research, analysis, and evaluation, as well as their ability to manage the project independently.
