
This course must be taken in addition to A Level Maths. The A-Level Further Mathematics course is designed for students who wish to extend their mathematical knowledge and skills beyond the standard A-Level Mathematics. In addition to achieving the Sixth Form entry requirements, students will be required to have achieved a Grade 7 or above in GCSE Maths.
The Pearson A-Level Further Mathematics is assessed through three written exams: 1. Paper 1: Core Pure Mathematics 2. Paper 2: Further Pure Mathematics 3. Paper 3: Applied Mathematics (mechanics and statistics) The exams assess theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills, with no coursework.
