Assessment

Composition (25% - 50 marks): Performance (35% - 50 marks): Solo and/or ensemble performing as an instrumentalist, or vocalist and/or music production (via technology). Appraising (40% - 120 marks): Exam paper with listening and written questions using excerpts of music. A good standard of performance is required and you will be expected to receive lessons on your chosen instrument. Some knowledge of music theory is essential as students will need to be able to read and analyse short passages of music.
