Dear Prospective Sixth Form Student, 

I am delighted to invite you to our upcoming Open Morning at Queen Mary's High School on Thursday 10th April 2025. This event is a wonderful opportunity for you to experience the unique family atmosphere that defines our school community. 

During the morning you will get to meet some of our current students who will share with you their experiences at Queen Mary’s High School. You will also get to meet the sixth form pastoral and academic team who will provide you with all the support you need to thrive.  Beyond academics, we believe in the importance of extracurricular opportunities. Our students have access to a variety of activities, including sports, arts, and clubs, which help to develop well-rounded individuals. Our staff and students are looking forward to telling you all about what additional activities and trips we have to offer.  

We offer numerous leadership development opportunities, such as roles within the Pupil Senior Leadership Team and leading extra-curricular clubs, if you wish, to help you build confidence and leadership skills. This also supports our rich and inclusive community as there is an opportunity for everyone.  

During the Open Morning, you will have the chance to tour our school and learn more about what makes QMHS special. You will need to arrive at 9am via gate 3 and the event will finish at 1pm. Please respond to our invite on Applicaa and be sure to register by 12pm, midday on Friday 4th April.

We are pleased to invite you to visit Parmiter's School for our Sixth Form Conference.

Students will attend sessions with the Heads of Sixth Form regarding the general principles of learning at A Level and hear about extra curricular and enrichment opportunities that we offer. Students will be able to visit up to four departments for talks from department heads on the content and delivery of their specific A Level courses. The sessions are scheduled in line with the options blocks for next year, and so students should be able to attend sessions on their full set of intended A Levels.  It is an ideal opportunity for students to get a sense of what their chosen A Levels will be like prior to online registration in August.

At the conference, we also provide information on Summer Tasks that each student needs to complete prior to starting the A Level courses. 

Students should wear smart/business attire but do not need to wear school uniform or a suit. Please bring a pen and paper with you on the day.

Welcome to Year 12! 

This day gives you a taste of VI Form and is a really important part of your induction programme. 

You will find out about VI Form, try your chosen subjects, have the opportunity to experience VI Form and resolve any subject clashes or change of subjects that you want to make. 

It takes place on Tuesday 25th June at The VI Form Academy, Cranberry Road, Cornwall TR147PP

Registration takes place from 8.15am

Day Finishes at 1.30pm for VI Form Academy students or 2.45pm for CSMS/CSLA students. 

Please bring a packed lunch and water for the day.
