FAQs
Applications open on Monday 25th November!
For internal students, please apply via the link sent to you via your school email address. Using this link means your application will be pre-populated with relevant information that you have previously provided the school with, this makes the process much quicker for you! If you are an external student please follow this link:https://lighthall.applicaa.com/year12 or see the link on our website, register your account and complete the application form!
No problem! On your application form you will have to select 3 A-Level subjects and 'Independent Study'. The 3 A-Levels you select should be subjects you are interested in studying beyond GCSE level, but you'll have plenty of opportunities to change your mind and discuss this decision with your families and teachers. So don't worry, this is just a starting point, so just go with your initial instinct.
Once you have completed all sections of the form and pressed submit, you will receive an email to confirm your form has been received by us. Now, you can focus on your GCSE studies and revision. We will send an email to arrange an interview with Mr Brookes, Head of Sixth Form, between January and March, so please make sure you have access to your email accounts that is on your application form (internal students this is your school email address).
You can apply to as many sixth forms/colleges as you'd like to. Consider the time it will take you to complete multiple applications and interviews, but ensure you have options if you're not quite set on somewhere yet.
If you are interested in what Light Hall Sixth Form has to offer, please apply. You will make your final decision on where you will study, on results day, when you can see which sixth forms/colleges can offer you a place, based on your results. So you are not committed to an institution until you enrol on results day, at which point you can only choose one school.
To find out more about each A-Level curriculum, please visit us on Thursday 28th November for our Open Evening, where our teachers and Year 12 students will present displays and answer your questions. Additionally, you can visit our website, which presents an information document for each subejct, including contact details for the Subject Lead, should you have any further questions. If you can't make our Open Evening, but would love to have a look around, please get in touch and we can arrange a visit.
