The school is also the 57th leading state school in the UK and Northern Ireland as per The Times A Level results table published 16th August 2024. 72.3% of Chis and Sid students have achieved grades at A*/B at A Level this year, a new school record! 40 students achieved 3x A/A* 19 students achieved 4x A/A* Twelve students achieved all (3x) A*grades

There are a wide variety of extracurricular activities available. Every subject area has clubs and they vary from the Young Enterprise Club to the Medical Society. In addition, there are a wide variety of musical ensembles and the choir. There are opportunities to take part in the dance show, the school musical and the concerts. Whether you enjoy competitive or recreational sport, want to develop your journalistic skills or your creative ones, there is an extracurricular activity at CSGS to allow you to do this. How large is the Sixth Form at CSGS?

There are approximately 550 students in the Sixth Form across Y12 and Y13

What is the standard Programme of Study?

The majority of the Sixth Form study three A Levels and the EPQ. Some students study three A Levels and an AS Level in English Literature or Maths. To study 4 A Levels applicants must reach specific entry criteria of at least 6 GCSE grades at 7 or above.

What time does school start and end?

8.15am to 3pm

How many periods are there in the week and per day?

There are 5 hours a day, making 25 hours a week. We have a two-week timetable to allow us to deliver a broad curriculum.

Where do I spend my private study time?

There are two dedicated spaces for Sixth Form students to study – the Legacy Building and the Lecture Theatre. Both of them are equipped with computers and they provide a high quality working environment.

Is there a dress code in the Sixth Form?

Yes – all Sixth Form students are expected to follow the dress code, dress smartly and set an example to the rest of the school.

Can I complete my Duke of Edinburgh Award?

The school supports students taking part in the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and overall has the highest completion rate for the Duke of Edinburgh Award in the borough.
