Course summary

You will enter the field of health and or social care with an industry placement that begins in October and continues for the length of the course. The placement is for two days a week and is with a local employer. Throughout your programme, you will learn about values and behaviours in health and social care whilst exploring the different settings and job roles you may go into. During your programme you'll cover. • equality and diversity • human lifespan development • communication • psychological perspectives With a focus on how to meet individual care needs in a manner that promotes safe practice in health and social care, including safeguarding. In year 2 you will look at empowerment, anatomy and physiology along with research methods. All students will need to obtain a DBS before they begin work placement and arrangements for this will take place during Induction week.
