Assessment: 100% Coursework. Component 1: Personal Investigation (60% of A-Level grade) • This component unit involves students researching and designing a product in response to an issue or a theme of their choice. There is no time limit to this component. Component 2: Externally Set Assignment (40% of A-Level grade) • This component unit involves students responding to an externally set assignment. Students have preparatory time, as well as 15 hours supervised time to complete their assignment.
