Music Technology

Course summary

This course offers students the exciting opportunity to develop their musical expertise through a highly contemporary computer based practical subject. Students will develop their musical knowledge, understanding and skills using digital music applications (particularly Logic Pro X and Cubase Artist 12). Tasks include learning to make close mic recordings, composing using technology, listening, analysing and producing. Students will be encouraged to engage with a wide range of music technology techniques and develop an understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of the use of music technology in the creation and production of music.
