Entry Requirements

The subject requires a good level of performance ability on an instrument of the candidate’s choice. This would ideally be at a level above Grade 5 in the Associated Board examinations. The most important requirement is the desire to explore music from diverse periods and countries. An interest and flair in musical composition is also highly desirable, as 30% of the overall examination covers this subject area.
