Assessment

Philosophy is a linear qualification designed to be taken over two years. Assessment will take place at the end of the course in the form of two examination papers. 50% Paper 1: Epistemology and Moral Philosophy. A 3-hour paper containing ten questions worth 100 marks in total. This is worth 50% of the A Level. 50% Paper 2: Metaphysics of God and Metaphysics of Mind. A 3-hour paper containing ten questions worth 100 marks in total. This is worth 50% of the A Level. Students will need to demonstrate strong subject knowledge of all the units explored, and their ability to argue in a logical and decisive manner with precision and economy.
