Component 1: Performing (30%) • Public performance of pieces (solo or ensemble) lasting over 8 minutes, recorded between 1st March and the end of the Lent Term in the Grecian year Component 2: Composing (30%) • One free choice composition lasting at least 5 minutes, to be completed in the Deputy Grecian year • Two Bach chorale harmonisations to be completed in the first two weeks of the Grecian Summer Term Component 3: Appraising • One written paper of 2 hours 10 minutes • Knowledge and understanding of musical elements, contexts and language over set works in 6 areas of study.
