Course summary

Christ’s Hospital has a vibrant extra-curricular Music scene. The variety of music encountered when participating in this means that students are often well placed to study Music as an academic option. All courses can contain significant performance elements and these see that individual instrumental progress (often made over many years) is rewarded. Theoretical knowledge of at least Grade 5 standard is needed for the A level. GCSE Music is a useful preparation for A level but, if candidates have sufficient instrumental and theoretical skills, it is not essential.
